The ninth and last film to date in the series created by George Lucas in 1977 and directed here by J.J. Abrams, The Rise of Skywalker or The Rise of Skywalker seems to mark the end of the adventure that has accompanied several generations. Beginning with a series of iconic scenes from various previous films, the trailer plays the card of nostalgia with old memories of Anakin, Han Solo and Obi-wan. Intrigue and suspense are also part of the game, much to the delight of fans eager to experience the ultimate battle Rey, Poe and Finn face. Among all the images of the characters who made the success of Star Wars, we rediscover Leia alias Carrie Fisher, who died in 2016 after the filming of episode VIII of “The Last Jedi”.

As well as bringing together some of the greatest characters from the Star Wars saga, The Rise of Skywalker brings a final point, not only to this third trilogy, but also to the Star Wars adventure in cinema for the next three years. Indeed, Bob Iger, boss of Disney and owner of the franchise, has indicated that we should not wait for a new film before 2022. The recent failures of the Han Solo and Rogue One episodes in theaters have a priori meant to the studios a certain fatigue of the public vis-à-vis the multiplicity of Star Wars products, which should now focus on the small screen.
