Natural hair coloring – the best 5 vegetable dyes!

Yes, it is possible to get a natural hair coloring. There are indeed many possibilities to color your hair well. The first thing you need to consider is whether you want to lighten, darken, or add red undertones to your hair. The easiest is when your hair is light brown or blonde. In this case almost any combination is possible. But if your hair is dark or red, there are always possibilities. Now is the time to make the color change without damaging your hair. Forget about the chemicals and try one of these 5 vegetable tinctures:

  1. Coffee and tea. It’s not fair to put all types of tea in one category, as there are many different teas in different colors that have the ability to change your hair color for a few weeks as well. Chamomile is very popular for creating a balayage effect on your light brown hair. Coffee works great if you are looking to go darker, cover up gray hair, or add dimension to dark braids. It also protects the keratin of the hair and in this sense stimulates their growth and prevents their fall. Just brew a strong coffee, let it cool, then mix one cup with a couple of tablespoons of leave in conditioner and 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds. Apply to clean hair and let sit for about an hour. If you use apple cider vinegar to rinse it off, it will help the color last longer. You may need to repeat the process once or twice to see visible results. Like coffee, black tea can help you go darker, and can also help cover gray hair. If you have lighter hair, however, there are other types of tea you can use. Chamomile, for example, is recommended for blondes, while rooibos can work for redheads. Keep in mind that tea works best with your natural color. You will not be able to transform brunette hair. But black tea can darken blonde hair and chamomile can lighten it, especially if you sit in the sun while you have it in. The longer you leave the tea on the hair, the more sensitive the color will be. You can also try repeated applications. The key is to make the tea very concentrated. Use 3-5 tea bags (or about the same amount in loose leaf tea) for two cups of water. You can apply the cooled tea to hair alone, or mix with conditioner (as directed in the coffee recipe). If you are looking to cover the grays, mix it with a little fresh or dried sage, which helps open up the hair follicles. Leave on the hair for at least an hour longer if you want more color. Some even put on a hat and wear the tea overnight, then rinse off the next morning. Check your color to determine what intensity you need.
  2. Herbs – depending on what color you are going for, you can use a variety of herbs to achieve this. Here are some suggestions, depending on what your natural color is:

    – Red hair: Try calendula, marigold, rosehips, hibiscus and deepen red shade or add some red highlights. The effects are cumulative, if you keep using the dye regularly you will notice more color. Simmer the flowers in water for about 30 minutes, strain, cool, then spray on hair and let dry in the sun if possible.

    – Brunette / dark hair: Rosemary, nettle, and sage are all great herbs for dark hair. Simmer all three with water for 30 minutes, cool, strain and spray or brush through hair. Let stand for about an hour. You can also use the daily rinse after your shower. Please be patient – it may take several days to notice a difference.

    – Blonde hair: As mentioned above, chamomile tea works, but you can also try calendula, marigold, saffron, and sunflower petals. To hide gray, try rhubarb root in two cups of water, simmer, strain, and pour over hair.

Add black tea to the dark colors above to help the color last longer. Catnip works for lighter colors.

  3. Vegetable beet and carrot juice – these two juices can add natural red hues to your current color. Depending on what shade you want, you can use each one on its own, or blend them together. For a more reddish shade, use more beet juice (strawberry blonde, red plus or auburn). The carrot juice will produce a calmer reddish orange. This one is easy to apply over a cup of juice to your hair. You can also mix in a little coconut oil to condition the hair at the same time. Work through, wrap the hair, and leave it on for at least an hour. (These juices stain — wear something to protect your skin and clothing.) Rinse off the juice, and seal with an apple cider vinegar spray. If the color is not dark enough, repeat the next day
  4. Henna – be careful with this product of nature. Sometimes the color change using henna stays for too long. One of the most popular natural hair coloring ingredients, henna is a powdered form of the leaves that come from the henna plant. These sheets have a natural and effective coloring pigment that has been used for thousands of years to dye hair, nails and skin. Natural henna, on its own, creates an orange-red color, so if you see products offering other colors produced with henna, realize that manufacturers have mixed henna with other ingredients to achieve these. colors. Redheads and brunettes (looking for a bit of auburn) are the best candidates for henna hair color. Be careful with this – The results can be more orange than you want, you can mix some chamomile with the paste to tame the color.

To make your own henna hair dye, mix about a cup of henna powder with 2 cups of lemon juice. You can also add a tablespoon of vinegar to help release the color. Let stand for about 4-6 hours until it thickens. Apply to hair and comb through. (This is messy so be prepared!) Wrap your hair in plastic wrap and let sit 2-3 hours before rinsing.

  5. Lemon to lighten her hair. It has long been known that lemon lightens hair. Yet the trick is often misused. Mix 60 ml of lemon juice with 180 ml of water. Pour the mixture into a bottle with a spray. Spray it on your hair, but be careful not to apply it to the scalp. Let sit for 2 hours and expose your hair for at least 30 minutes to the sun. Use a conditioner before and after the procedure.

Balayage is a revolutionary technique that allows us to have lighted hair with a natural effect. This is the type of hair that is very often seen in children. The base of the hair acquires a darker color while the lengths become lighter and lighter. When done to reproduce the authentic effect it is a unique lighting and application of the special color so that the strands light up gradually and until the ends. If you want you can leave the roots painted in a base color or work in the same balayage tone. Balayage can be combined or replaced with ombre but an original balayage looks much more natural since the colors here are applied near the base of the strands. To get a really pretty balayage, it is best to entrust yourself to a professional..

The hair color trend 2016 – 60 inspiring photos!

What colors are in fashion for the 2016-2017 fall-winter season? As for hair, we have the answer in this article. The hair color trend 2016 indeed it is not one color, but several. Not to mention that the best hair color will always be the natural color, it’s good to experiment sometimes. And the best is to do it with natural or temporary dyes … or why not natural and temporary. Not forgetting for the cut that you can also see in the photos below.

The “rainbow” fringe is currently on trend. This trend doesn’t require you to totally change your hair color, nor to do the full range of rainbow on your bangs. This is a type of balayage with two or three shades of the same color or a mix of a few colors that are close to each other. The examples – Amber Le Bon and its pink undertones; Keke Palmer who chose blue for his bangs; Zendaya with her cool temporary neon.

Dip-dye has been a trend for a few years, but that doesn’t mean it’s not always current. We like the dip-dye with the ombre effect and the balayage effect. The second is magnificent and gives the opportunity to vibrate in harmony with summer and autumn. Blond for summer, more caramel and chestnut for fall. For those of you who are naturally or colored blonde, we recommend the combination with pink. The good example of Miranda Lambert and Kate Moss, gives us the assurance that it is on top of the trends.

Natural brunettes should ask for amber hues to complement their skin tone, like Eva has done in recent years. This will make your skin just glow with the perfect ronze undertone. The beauty of natural brunettes can also be nicely emphasized by the modern aubergine color. But those of you who have chosen to be careful with the blue or purple coloring, because it stays longer. Eggplant hair color is a commitment, so prepare yourself well before you make the final decision.

Side swept strands are a trend that can come ahead of the bigger change in hair color. They are too cute and help to create cute wavy hairstyles. For the fall and winter of 2016, he tends to go for balayage with natural products. For blonde balayage, chamomile and sun can work wonders for the hair. To find more information, you can recommend our article on Californian balayage or the one that gives tips on how to color hair naturally..

You will find all the new trends in the photos below this page. Be inspired by the style of the stars who have the best hairdressers in the world and don’t hesitate to experiment. Good luck to everyone!
